My niece, Emmah Paige Lonebear, is a vibrant 13 year old who hopes to be a surgeon when she grows up. Emmah has spent her entire life in and out of hospitals, but it has never crushed her spirit. All her life she has received a list of what she wouldn’t be able to do....can’t crawl, can’t walk. Emmah is a walking miracle.
Our family is extremely grateful for the Shriner’s Hospital in Shreveport, LA. They have provided numerous needed surgeries at no cost to her family. But, the family is responsible for all the costs they endure during her hospital stays. October 18, 2018, Emmah had another life-changing surgery on her right leg, ankle, and foot. She will be in the hospital 2 weeks, go home to heal, and then she will return to the hospital in December for a month of inpatient physical therapy.
Emmah’s mom, Candice, will be at her daughters side during this time. Emmah’s sisters have remained in Oklahoma with their grandmother. Candice is a single mom on a fixed income. Unfortunately she will not be receiving any pay during all this time off. She is also in Shreveport without a vehicle. We are hoping to help raise some funds to help Candice and her family during this time because what limited funds she has will not last long.
Please keep Emmah and her family in your prayers. Emmah is our very own personal miracle, and we believe God has a great plan for Emmah!!
