Hello,

I am a Fine Artist, and Creative Director, who resides in New York City, and was born and raised in York, PA.

THIS CAMPAIGN IS RAISING FUNDS FOR

Live/Work Painting Studio
Cyber Security

Regardless of how self-disciplined and successful one is in their day job, being a Painter can be an exorbitantly expensive profession, especially in New York City.

On average, tens of thousands per year from my income have gone to art materials, space, and public art-making. Even with my success in Business, with a six-figure income and credit score over 800, after my painting expenses, there were no savings.

Additionally -- in recent years my online business, and bank account, became a target of chronic cybercrime, as well as Identity Theft.

Fortunately, I am resilient and healthy. My middle-class family in York, PA,  was not wealthy. However, I had a healthy start in life, and was raised to be self-disciplined. There was no spoiling in my family. Having attended the rough, York, PA inner city schools, I am stable and focused, even in crisis scenarios, as I had to overcome serious life challenges in childhood.

Funding Art That Heals

While I am a Formalist Painter, not an Art Therapist, a benefit of my live painting and drawing process is that it is a form of body-mind healing.

In our time, all humans would benefit from a regular, holistic healing program.

During 2011-2012, at a gym,  while I was creating a new artwork that combined drawing and dance, I was also performing my own self-healing, through a combination of plyometric exercise, dance and self-portrait drawings. This body of art was related to the live drawings and paintings of male athletes I had been making since the late 1990s.

I am an Artist, not a neurologist. I do not research brain science before making art. This happened intuitively: While I was drawing and painting in real-time at a sports game, it integrated right and left-brain hemispheres, and my body.

Perhaps my painting and drawing process can be used to help trauma survivors, including children, veterans, cyberbullying victims.

Your contribution would help me to share this art-making process with those who could potentially put it to use in therapeutic settings.

Giving Back is Always a Priority

From childhood onward, I contributed to urban/youth development projects, interfaith and peace initiatives, breast cancer cure initiatives, national political campaigns, and, Derreck and I regularly contributed to the homeless shelter near our apartment.

MY FIRST ART FORM WAS DANCE.

As a toddler -- I was scouted -- and was being coached towards a Professional Dance Career. The Ballet Instructor in my small hometown retired in my pre-teens. My focus became Visual Art.

PAINTINGS AND DRAWINGS AT GAMES

From the late 1990s to 2012 -- I painted and drew at Men's Pro Basketball and Baseball Games -- in New York City -- no photos, film or video were used.

From my Athletic and Visual-Spatial Ability -- I can paint and draw another Athlete while he is playing.

When I painted this in the mid-2000s, the Athlete was in mid-air, dunking the basketball. The Player is John Strickland -- whom I often represented. Sadly -- he passed away several years ago.

WE WERE EACH OTHER'S FAN

With all due respect to the Talented Athletes whom I was painting:

As one can see from this photo of me painting during this 2005 Championship Game, I was performing as much as the Athletes.

It should not have to be said -- that I am a Professional Artist
-- not a sports groupie -- I did not spend any time with these Athletes.

From 1999 - 2011 -- I was living -- faithfully -- with my husband -- Derreck Alexander.  Here is a painting of Derreck from life -- a Great Ballplayer -- Himself -- and a Gifted Man.

Here is Derreck's Reference.
