Support Claire ‘Kiwi’ Chalmers

Donation protected
Claire Chalmers who we affectionately call Kiwi from the land of NZ, our beautiful friend, has just been diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer at the age of 35.

For Kiwi, the next 4 – 6 months will be all systems go with no time to think; numerous tests, scans, doctor’s appointments, surgery and chemotherapy to kick this Cancer’s butt.

Kiwi is such a special person in so many people’s lives. She is a giver of her time whether it is for her friends and family, her community, her work colleagues, charity or her beloved Balmain Waterpolo Club.

Kiwi is always the first person to put her hand up to support others; raising money for charity by running a marathon or swimming in an ocean swim. In recent years Kiwi has been a participant for Cantoo, running The Great Ocean Road Marathon and Half Marathon, as well as the Sydney Marathon. Through Cantoo Kiwi has raised money which goes towards cancer research and helping others.  Kiwi's  most recent event was earlier this year where she travelled to WA with her team to take part in the Rottnest Island Swim, fundraising over $4000.00 for Motor Neuron Disease.

Along with her fundraising Kiwi has been invaluable to the Balmain Water polo Club where she is a player, coach and manager.  Her passion for her club has seen Kiwi volunteer her time and expertise to junior teams U12’s & U14’s, her own team (Ladies 3rd Grade “The Cougars”) and the club itself turning her hand at the BBQ.  Her contribution to the club over the years has been committed and selfless.

Kiwi is a kind and loyal friend, always willing to make herself available. At the drop of a hat she is on the phone or at your door. Her compassionate and thoughtful nature is to give her best at all times without any complaints. She’s a doer, a go getter, a passionate person who lives life to the fullest. She loves a challenge, a nice meal, a glass of vino (or two) a good game of rugby, her work, boating or anything else that involves having a good times!

Kiwi is one of those amazing people who everybody knows and has a great story to tell.  She is very well respected in the workers’ compensation industry and has turned into a wonderful asset not only to JLT but the workers compensation team.

In only a short time as being a broker she has turned into an integral part of our team, her contacts internally and externally are a credit to her personality, work ethic, success achieved and her compassionate and friendly nature. She’s hard working and always put’s others before herself.

This year, 2016 saw Kiwi as part of the workers compensation broking team which won best broker as judged by the regulator. She was also chosen to join the highly regarded mentoring program within the company. She has been selected and mentored by JLT’s Australian CEO.

Kiwi is one of those people who always see’s the positive things in life and will never say a bad word about people.  She’s dedicated to anything she sets her mind to and I’m sure she’ll tackle this latest challenge with everything she’s got.

It’s now Kiwi’s turn for us to support her. A humble friend in her time of need, as she tackles her own marathon and tough journey ahead, please lend your hand and support where you can.

Donations will be supporting Kiwi’s medical bills. Our aim is to allow Kiwi to focus on the bigger picture in getting her health back on track with the peace of mind knowing that these bills are covered.

 Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

With love and thanks from
