Caleb’s Family

Caleb Scribner, son of Eric Scribner  and Tricia Scribner (Nunn)  was admitted into the hospital early last week with what they thought was a stomach bug, his health went south quick and he was air lifted to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center where he is currently in the ICU. Due to Caleb’s septic state and lowered immune system he has now developed pneumonia as well. His doctors have added yet another antibiotic to help fight all these infections. They are running tests, and doing scans daily looking for answers. Caleb seems to be taking two steps forward and a step and a half back daily. The silver lining to these clouds is that while it is very very slow progress, some progress is being seen. Caleb is no longer in a coma but is very heavily sedated, the doctors are amazed that despite all the heavy sedation Caleb is having moments of responsiveness and even though he is in a great deal of pain in those moments his will to live is shining through! Caleb by the grace of God continues to fight for his life! While the doctors continue to search for answers, and battle these secondary infections, nothing is guaranteed at this time and his parents are holding onto their love for god and their child and praying for a miracle! A best case scenario at this point for the Scribner family is 10 days-2 weeks more in the ICU then inpatient recovery in the pediatric unit followed by lots of recovery at home. And this is if they can find answers and keep moving forward with slow progress. At this time Eric and Tricia would simply like to ask for your continued prayers. They are holding onto their faith in God during this horrible time and they are being so strong and amazing for Caleb, they need your continued prayers. I at this time know the world outside of the ICU at Dartmouth is still spinning, work is being missed, bills are piling up, and there are many expenses while in a hospital not medically and insurance related!
