Support The Rappé Family

Hello Friends and Family,

Rylie Adelene Rappé was born on October 4th, 2016 at 7:46 PM. She weighs only 2 lbs 13 oz and is 16" long.

As many of you all know Baby Rylie has graced us with her presence a bit earlier than expected. Rylie was born with Esophageal Atresia; is a condidion of the digestive system in which the esophagus does not develop properly. The esophagus is the tube that normally carries food from the mouth to the stomach. .

Esophageal Atresia can only be treated with surgery and right now Rylie is too small to operate on. At the moment she has had a procedure where they have placed a G tube in her stomach to allow her to recieve nutrition and grow!!!! Get strong, Rylie!

Rylie is currently staying at Texas Children's Hospital in Houston, TX; where she is in the best care in the NICU. Marie and Curran have been told that she may be there for 4-5 months.

This is where you come in.

Many of you have asked if there something you can to help, or if the Rappé's needed anything.

As of now, the surgery does not have a set date, but Mom and Dad will be visiting Rylie at the hospital as much as they can. Expenses for parking, food, lodging, and gas are just a few needs taken care of so that they don't have to worry about how things will get paid for.

Texas Children's Hospital is located in Houston, TX, Parking at the hospital is $12 each time you park. So if someone wanted to go get food that's $24 just to leave the area for one meal.

The Rappé's live in Pasadena, TX which is about 40-45 min away from the hospital, without traffic. The plan is for them to visit at least once or twice a day. They both have jobs that have been supportive of them in this time, but they will need to return to work at some point to be able to pay for rent and bills. There will be moments where they will each drive separately to the hospital.

The Ronald McDonald house is an organization that helps families have a place to stay to be close to their loved one. There is a house 10 minutes from the hospital, but rooms aren't  always guaranteed. There is a waiting list every day and it's overwhelming to not know if there will be able to stay the night. Traveling back and forth from Houston to Pasadena is a must at times.

Here is a breakdown of how your donation will be used.

Curran and Marie’s hospital expenses:

4 days of the week, we will be there for a shorter amount of time.
3 days of the week, we will stay overnight

Food: Breakfast is free at the RMH, and your donation will cover other meals.

Gas: 40 miles round trip with one or both cars.

Parking: $12 per parking session per car.

Lodging: The Ronald McDonald house often will allow us to stay free of charge, but lodging is based on need and availability, so your donations will provide a way for us to stay in a nearby hotel.

THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR LOVE, PRAYERS AND SUPPORT FOR THIS FAMILY!
