On January 2nd our family received news that our mom, Tonita Fernandez, has colorectal cancer. This entire week has been earth-shattering for us. It's hard to even fathom what's happening. From the beginning our mom has been there for us. She's been our number one supporter and caretaker. She's done so much for us and gone beyond her limits to make sure we have the best life she can give us.
After hearing this news and realizing what's happening, nothing else in the world matters to us now except her well being and health. Cancer means that our mom will have to take months off from work and will need to pay for medical expenses not covered by insurance. Through this page we to hope ease some of her worries by helping to take away the financial burden of this disease.
Our mom isn't good at asking for help, so we're asking for her.
About Our Mom: Tonita is mom to five adopted children (ages 5, 8, 10, 11 and 20) and has 22 godchildren. She is also a 1st grade teacher at the Chandler School in Pasadena and has a busy tutoring practice.
We will continue to update this space as she goes through treatment and the situation evolves.
