Super Special-Needs Kitten Surgery

Donation protected

tl;dr - Super special needs kitten now needs surgery on his knee cap, which is hanging out on the side of his leg. The owner (me) has spent tons of money on his autoimmune disease and needs help for the surgery.

Thomas O'Malley (TomTom), is my pet cat. He was a rescue at the age of 6 weeks old. He was covered in fleas, mites, worms, had burn marks on his paws, was absolutely covered in urine and had only been fed whole milk from the grocery store.

At the age of two months old, he was diagnosed with a super aggressive form of pemphigus foliaceus (his autoimmune system attacks his skin). I have been paying out of pocket for all his daily medicines, biopsies, and emergency vet visits. Sometimes coming to $500 a month. I work retail, go to school, and pay my own bills and rent -- so money isn't quite plentiful.

On April 12th we hightailed it to the vets for a (fairly common now) steroid shot. The vet noticed his limp which we had previously attributed to the steroids leg cramps. She investigated further and it became very obvious that it was Stage 4 Medial Patellar Luxation (his poor little knee cap is hanging out on the side of his leg, pulling all his muscles that way as well).

At this stage, the only option is surgery to correct it. I got the quote from the most confident and knowledgeable vet around me. She's is the go-to person for this type of surgery. It came to $1250.

I would love to get this surgery over with as soon as possible. It hurts knowing that he is limping because of something fixable, but I am running low on money. I am excited to see him able to run and climb again.

I wish everyone could meet him. He loves people, going for walks on his leash (more like lie-downs now), he will do anything for food. ANYTHING.  He's a little Tasmanian Devil and really thinks he's a dog. Including greeting people at doors, licking your face when you wake up, playing fetch, chewing pigs ears, sleeping in a crate (by choice. I leave the door open). He's my sweet boop boop. The biggest orangest kitty cat. And I need some help helping him.

Every penny is helpful and useful. It'll all go to Thomas O'Malley, Mr. Tom-a-long-a-ding-dong, Poop Poop, Special Needs Kitty Cat. Literally get him back up on his feet again! What even is a kitten that can't do zoomies anymore?? I am hoping with this surgery he'll be able to jump on the bed by himself, do zoomies and climb his cat tree again. He'll be my little Crazy Pants again. People will stop making jokes that he is fat and lazy and should be called Garfield instead (just kidding -- those are pretty funny still).
