Sunshine Boy Needs an ADA lift!

My son, "Sunshine Boy", needs a lift - literally!
After having spinal fusion surgery a few months ago, my days of lifting my son in and out of the car have come to an end. I'm in immediate need of a way to maintain my son's quality of life through daily outings, to get him to medical appointments, and to allow him to continue to live at home. We've done amazingly well on our own up until now, but with the permanent lifting restrictions after my surgery, I'm following doctor's orders and moving forward with alternative methods of getting him in and out of the car.
Enter the Milford lift ! This is an amazing car powered mechanical lift that can transport Sunshine Boy between his wheelchair and the passenger seat, avoiding any strain or potential injury to my back. It really is a vital resource that caregivers and family members of disabled individuals should have.
This is where I need your help. One unit (plus tax and installation) totals about $7,200. Unfortunately, durable medical goods like this are not covered by insurance. That leaves us trying to find a way to pay for this greatly needed lift and very little time to do so. (Did I mention that this is something we needed like...YESTERDAY?)
My son is such a light in the community, and the time he spends out with his friends and neighbors bolsters his quality of life exponentially. (Not to mention our need to get him to and from medical appointments and physical therapy).
If you can spare a dime, or two, or ten, it would go a long way in helping us to get this lift and continue to take "Sunshine Boy" out into the world. Besides, Sunshine Boy and his awesome traveling hat want to continue his quest of locating every wheelchair accessible walking trail in the PNW.
