Sunjoo’s Medical Fund

On the way to Long Beach California, my brother unexpectedly experienced a seizure that required my mother and younger sister to pull over and call 911 immediately. After having multiple tests and scans done, the doctors explained that he had a golf ball sized abscess in his brain, which triggered my brother to have a seizure. The doctor recommended that he undergo brain surgery to remove the abscess, which took place on September 23rd at 7:15 a.m. 

A little about Sunjoo Park:
My brother was born with Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD), Right Ventricular Outflow Tract Obstruction (RVOTO), and Pulmonary Artery Stenosis (PAS). However, that did not stop him from living his life to the fullest. After high school, he told our parents that he wanted to go to college to continue his education, volunteered on missionary trips to Mexico, and exercised daily to help his heart.  My brother is also a devout Christian who loves to read the bible every morning and night. While in the ICU, when my mom asked what he wanted from home, he simply responded with “my purple bible.”

안녕하세요 저희 큰오빠 박선주는 선천성 심장병, 심실중격결손 (VSD), 우심실순환폐쇄 (RVOTO)와 폐동맥경화증 (PAS)를 가지고 태어나서 두차레의 큰 수술을 받았습니다. 하지만 오빠는 삶에 대한열정을 품고 많은 어려움을 극복하면서 고등학교를 졸업하고 대학 수업을 들으며 일요일마다 교회를 섬기고 자주 멕시코로 선교하러 다녔습니다. 이해력이 부족하고 체력이 많이 떨어져도 매일 열심히 운동하고 성경책을 읽으면서 믿음을 키우고 언제나 희망을 품고 살고 있습니다. 지난 금요일 오후 샌디에이고에서 LA로 이동 중 갑자기 경련이 일어나서 급하게 911을 부른 후 응급실로 옮겨서 MRI 결과로 골프공만 한 크기의 뇌농양이 발견됐습니다. 약물치료보다는 수술로 제거하는 것이 더 안전한 것으로 판단되어서 오늘 아침 7시에 수술을 받고 중환자실에서 회복 중이며 항생제 치료를 받고 있습니다. 인공호흡기를 통해 호흡을 하고 있지만 조만간 안전하게 인공 호흡기를 떼어내길 바라고 있습니다. 중환자실에서 어머니가 오빠한테 집에서 뭐 갖다 줄까라고 물어봤을 때 선주 오빠는성경책을 같다 달라 하였습니다. 저희 가족을 기도와 물질로 후원해주시면 감사하겠습니다.
