Sunflowers for Serena

 
Serena has been a beloved employee at Poseidon for over 17 months. Her charismatic personality touches the lives of her coworkers and customers alike. Spends her time helping train dogs as well as coaching youth soccer, a truly inspiring and beautiful friend to all who meet her. 

Serena has a condition that causes cavernomas to form in her brain. Cavernomas are abnormal blood vessels that swell up like a raspberry in certain places. Serena had a cavernoma on her brain stem that started to bleed, which caused detrimental effects (e.g. migraines and left-sided paralysis), leading to her hospitalization. Immediate surgery was necessary to stop the bleeding and remove the cavernoma.

 
The episode left her without the use of the left side of her body, she cannot speak, and she could not breathe on her own. Thankfully, the surgery was highly successful, but Serena will have a long road of healing and intense physical therapy ahead of her to regain full mobility and speech. However, with the help of your generosity she will have the opportunity to recover most, if not everything, she has lost. All donations collected will go towards Serena’s medical bills and assisting her family with out of town expenses during this difficult time. Any leftover funds will be donated to a charity of Serena’s choosing once she has recovered.
