Sugar Baby on the Edinburgh Fringe
Donation protected
Fresh from two sell-out previews in London, we're taking our one-woman show Sugar Baby to the Edinburgh Fringe in August.
Sugar Baby is a comic voyage to the dark soul of the food industry, starring Holly-Rose Clegg (above), written by Anne Penketh and directed by Katie Haigh. A mother-daughter relationship is at the core of the story which is about sugar, addiction and a food giant gone rogue.
Holly-Rose cut her teeth on the Commedia dell'Arte and plays multiple roles in Sugar Baby, packing the show with her addictive energy and charisma. Her TV roles have included playing in an episode of the cult crime drama Spiral (Engrenages).
Katie (above, left) is an actress who has performed at the Avignon festival and taken an acclaimed musical on tour. You may have heard her voice in TV commercials such as Nespresso, Touche Eclat and Armani.
Anne is a journalist - who has worked for The Independent, The Guardian and AFP news agency - and author. Sugar Baby is inspired by her first novel, Food Fight.
The show is on a shoe-string budget, but the simply the venue costs and accommodation in Edinburgh for the whole of August amount to £5,000. This is where you come in!
We'd be so grateful if you could contribute in any way to this campaign. Thanks to everyone who came along to our acclaimed previews in Paris and London in May and June.
We hope to see lots of you in Edinburgh. We've got Sugar Baby T-shirts for all those who help us hand out flyers. We look forward to seeing you at 2.30pm at Paradise Green in the Vault (The Annexe) from August 4 to 27.
In the meantime, follow our updates on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/sugarbabyedfringe/ and on Twitter @sugarbaby2017
We hope you find Sugar Baby as addictive as we do!
