Subscension's "Mother Courage"

Donation protected
Subscension Theatre's mission is to "Challenge conventions to evoke change. Give voice to the under-represented. Provide access to the resources of progress." This Spring, Subscension presents Mother Courage and Her Children to further achieve this mission.

Mother Courage is a 1939 play written by Bertolt Brecht as a form of "white heat" response to facism and the Nazi party - specifically, Adolf Hitler's invasion of Poland. His commentary is a warning to any person who profits from systemic oppression and destruction. His characters live in the 17th century, his words were written 80 years ago, but his message is powerful and perennial: if we become blind to moments of devastation, however large or small, for our own possible future prosperity - the consequences will be fierce and shattering.

Directed by: Elise D'Avella. The players are: Cassandra Alexander, Eibhleann Clyne, Niya Colbert, Stephanie Iozzia, Jane Lloyd, Donovan Lockett, Jessica Otterbine, Katherine Perry, Kristen Phaneuf, Minou Pourshariati & Madeline Webb.

Your contributions are going directly toward the production. Each donation will help us reach our goals of: creative stipends, technical rentals (lights, sound, etc.), production expense (space rentals, printing, etc.)

Part of our current design is to give back to our actors through a percentage of funds raised. If you are donating for a specific player - please put their name within the comment field!

-----------

For those who donate $25 - you will receive a signed 5x7 production postcard by the players and the director.

For those who donate $50 - you will receive the signed postcard and 1 (one) free ticket to a performance of your choice.

For those who donate $100 - you will receive the signed postcard and 2 (two) free tickets to a performance of your choice.

Thank you for your donation! Mother Courage and Her Children runs May 8-12, 16 & 17 @ 7:00pm and May 11 @ 2:00pm at the Headhouse Market - 2nd & Lombard Sts. in Philadelphia.
