Help the Scheuneman Family

$34,830 of $35,000 goal

On April 23rd, Kyle Scheuneman was involved in a work related accident. While working on power lines, Kyle received an electric shock by a high voltage line and was rushed to a local hospital via Aero Med. He sustained very serious injuries and is currently in the ICU and awaiting a long road to recovery.

Aside from being an all around wonderful human being, Kyle is loving husband and father to his wife and three beautiful children.  No one deserves to go through this kind of pain, especially Kyle and his family.

The last thing the Scheuneman family needs to think about after a tragic accident like this, is their personal finances. They need to stick together and stay strong for each other and for Kyle.

If you are able, please take a moment to donate what you can to help the family out. Most importantly, keep Kyle in your thoughts and prayers.

Here is an update for those that may not have Facebook:

Sunday night update:

Finally...after a very active day of being awake he is now resting deeply. We are so happy to see him and talk to him but it's not always best for Kyle. His blood pressure is still giving the staff a hard time with staying stable and they are tweaking the sedation and pain meds to find a stable spot all at once. His facial burns are really starting to heal and he is looking more like himself. The right side is still more severe, hopefully after having the last two days off from surgery he will be ready for repair in tomorrow's surgery. Main part is going to again be his wounds on back. Praying for no more dead muscle so they can start the muscle flap repair and get him in more of a healing process. They took a sample of mucus out of his lungs today through the trach to test for infection . That's definitely a word we have been trying to stay away from. And constantly praying for movement!

{A couple personal notes}
With being awake and aware so much more these last two days, Kyle has had a lot to "say". He still is not able to talk bc of the need for the breathing machine to still be attached to his trach but we are getting better at reading lips. He had been asking for his phone so I brought it today not knowing what he was thinking and once he asked again I said I have your phone, why do you need it? He looked right at me and said "to text you" it was really hard not to cry and I failed at keeping all the tears back. He knew he could text me to tell us all the things he keeps saying. So awesome that his brain is functioning that well but it was horrible to have to tell him that his hands aren't working. Like I took a deep breathe and still wanted to puke. His mom and I were on each side of him trying to reassure him it's temporary and encourage him of how well he is doing. He wants to know what happened and why, he wants to go home , he wants out of here, he is convinced he is choking bc of the trach , he says it with such fear and sadness it breaks are hearts. We just continue to comfort him and make him as comfortable as possible.

I shared this weekend with a couple friends my doubts, my what ifs, my fears for him and where our long road is headed. And they pointed out the devil at work, the spiritual fight that must be going on and I too must fight it. It's one day at a time, I will stop and pray and continue to ask God for his healing on Kyle, I will not lose my hope or faith. My love for Kyle is great but Gods is greater. Almost 5000 people our now following, praying, coming together, feeling closer to God and that's how we will get through this. When Kyle was getting his pain meds right before he fell asleep he shook his head no that he didn't want them and I asked him why..his eyes were already closed but his lips still moved the words "I'm strong" God is listening and so is Kyle. ‪#‎powerofprayer‬ ‪#‎kylestrong‬

As you can see, we're almost at $30,000! This would be another huge milestone to get to. The continued selflessness that everyone has shown in donating to this page, and by praying for Kyle's recovery, has been staggering. I can tell you that after talking with Kyle's family, they are truly grateful for everyone's continued support. There is no doubt that the power of numbers is helping Kyle in his recovery.

If there is anywhere that you can think to share this page and the Kyle Strong Facebook page (community groups, in your church, at your work), please do so! The more people that are keeping Kyle in their thoughts and prayers, the better.

Here is the most recent update from Lindy:

Tuesday night update:
Kyle struggled horribly last night after surgery with his blood pressure having scary lows and highs, a fever, extremely sensitive to noise and his meds. His nurse was pretty much a big deal and barely left his side! Hands down worst night yet and I still found comfort in knowing he was in such good care he finally stabilized around 6am and his day was mostly calm. I was able to talk to him and have him respond in the night and this morning smile emoticon he even nodded when I asked if he just wanted me to sit beside him and hold his hand, I don't even know if he can feel mine but I can sure feel his
By morning we are hoping to have his feeding tube switched to his stomach and fingers crossed he will have a trach sometime tomorrow!! Last I heard his 6th surgery will be tomorrow on his burns and wound on back. Prayers for the bone to still show life and muscle and tissue to stop dying so they can begin the process of repair!! Please be in constant prayer for his potential spinal injury - it's heavy on our minds and hearts.
One of Kyle's doctors stood over him today and said "I don't know if you heard me before but this is the greatest specimen of man I have ever worked on, he is amazingly strong." I reached for his arm and hugged him telling him how grateful we are for him and 1000s are praying not only for Kyle but for him as he works. He pulled away and I felt his emotion, he said " you know there is something to be said about prayer. If there is something great to come from it... This is it" and nodded in Kyle's direction. It was so powerful and filled me with such hope. I'm so proud to be this mans wife We thank you for joining this journey with us and because you pray he will be ‪#‎kylestrong‬ ‪#‎inGodshands‬

Thank you for the up dates. I will be there Monday. Lindy. Whatever I can do let me know. Kyle had told me many times how lucky he is to have you. The love of his life.and to be blessed with his children. Now he is a tough guy with a bit of a tough road ahead but with you at his side he has said there is nothing he can't do. The creator has Kyle in his hands.but the bonds of love can work miracles. Love. Prayers. Kent
