Study Abroad in Morocco 2018

My name is Dillon Spann. I am a Sophomore at Sewanee: The University of the South in Sewanee, TN. I am an International and Global Studies Major.
At Sewanee, I am a member of the Track and Field Team, Vice President of the Black Student Union, a University Proctor, and Social Chair of Delta Tau Delta fraternity.
I was recently granted admission into the School For International Training's Summer Arabic Study and Community Service effort in Rabat, Morocco. I am also a 2018 recipient of the Benjamin A. Gilman Scholarship, funded by the U.S. State Department. Even still, I find myself a few thousand dollars shy of covering program costs, plane tickets, and materials for an 8-week stay in Morocco. With help, I hope to complete my Arabic language study, return to the U.S., and begin my follow-on service project for the Gilman Scholarship, establishing an Arabic language program for the children in my area.
