Flood Relief for Students of BR

Donation protected

In August of 2016, southern Louisiana was heavily impacted by a massive storm that didn't have enough wind to be classified as a hurricane or a tropical depression.  Predictions only included heavy rainfall.  Who knew that the "heavy rainfall" would bring widespread devastation to multiple parishes?

This unnamed storm has broken every rainfall and flooding record in the state.  Thousands of people were effected.  Thousands lost their vehicles and homes.  Homes were evacuated.  Shelters were evacuated.  Let's help put things back together.

I am Alan Sharlow (a teacher, Assistant to the Director of Bands, and Step Team Sponsor) and this GoFundMe account is specifically for high school students at McKinley Senior High School in Baton Rouge.  Students who attend McKinley live in parishes that were hit the hardest.  Many of them no longer have school uniforms, shoes, socks, undergarments, or school supplies.

The money raised here will go towards helping families replenish necessary items for the academic success of their high school children.  Items will be purchased from Walmart and/or local stores and include uniform pants, shirts, socks, shoes, toiletries, and school supplies

Any help that you can provide will be greatly appreciated by our students.  Whether you are able to donate $1 or $100, your donation will help a family and impact a life forever!
