NorthStar believes in giving students opportunities to smile while learning.
NorthStar Educational and Therapeutic Services is a special education program serving local school systems in North Georgia.
Children and youth served by the program have a variety of backgrounds. However, all of them experience emotional conflict. Anxiety, anger, depression, reality confusion, or neuro-cognitive challenges may be evidenced. Some students also underachieve academically.
NorthStar provides a number of ways to help students meet their personal goals.
NorthStar incorporates critical aspects of classroom instruction and assessment that reinforces, supports, and strengthens the academic development of students.
The most commonly utilized approach by NorthStar is the therapeutic counseling/teaching interactions between teachers and students; focusing on development of personal insight and related problem solving skills.
Donations to the program will directly benefit students. Donations allow us to offer students a variety of opportunities including art, fieldtrips and other special activities.
NorthStar believes all students have potential and when provided with positive and supportive environments, great change will take place!
