St. Thomas Hurricane Relief Drive

Donation protected
Keep Smiling Nonprofit Organization in collaboration with Simplypamarie Blog is hosting a "Donation Drive for Hurricane Irma Relief in St. Thomas, USVI"

"Hurricane Irma and Hurricane Maria, both category 5 hurricanes and some of the most powerful storms ever to hit the Atlantic Ocean have ripped through the beloved island of St. Thomas and we are requesting your help to bring necessities and goods to the people who are in need."

St. Thomas, one of the three islands (St. Thomas, St. John and St. Croix) whom combined  are known as the U.S Virgin Islands was hit terribly by Hurricane Irma and then two weeks later, Hurricane Maria. The island suffered major damage including power loss,  major flooding and strong winds that ripped off the roof of homes leaving families destitute without any of their basic needs. The island's one and only hospital was crippled by the storms leaving patients without proper care and causing mandatory evacuation.

Keep Smiling Non-profit is an organization created by Terrell Simmons whose mission is to inspire, motivate and encourage underserved communities by providing enrichment programs, community outreach and mentorship opportunities to individuals with confined mindsets impacted by poverty. When Terrell heard about the devastation in all of the Caribbean, he immediately wanted to use his organization to provide relief to the people in need.

Simplypamarie.com is a  NYC based food, entertainment and travel blog created by Pamela Gibbs. Her maternal grandparents are natives of St. Thomas and she has traveled to the island often. Because she holds the island so close to her heart, she knew immediately that creating this relief drive was her way to bring a positive impact to not only her relatives and friends affected by the devastation of Hurricane Irma, but to the St. Thomian people that truly can be helped by it.

Keep Smiling Non-Profit and Simplypamarie will be hosting a food, clothing and supplies drive on October 14-15, 2017 from 11am-4pm in Dumbo, Brooklyn where they are welcoming donations of the suggested donation items below. For those who are unable to come, this Go Fund Me page has been created for monetary donations to cover shipping costs (items will be shipped via Tropical Shipping) and to purchase more items to be shipped along with the donated items.
