Strength For Sally - Help her beat cancer!

Donation protected

First, THANK YOU, for taking a moment to read a little about this  unexpected  news we are dealing with. My mom,
Sally Gossi, has recently been diagnose with Stage 4 non-small cell adenocarcinoma lung cancer. This is only the
beginning of her journey and very long road.

1/26/19 - My mom, Sally had not been feel well for a few months. She would get sick and be sick for a good 2-3 weeks at time. She  became short of breath and decided to go  to the doctor. This was a huge step for her, as she doesn't
have health insurance and wasn't wanting to rack up a large hospital bill. She went to McCall Hospital on Saturday,
1/26/19 where they refused to see her. She insisted on going to the ER in Boise, but went to Cascade Medical
Instead.
There they did an X-ray on her chest and saw something they didn't like. They then did an MRI to get a better look.
They found a large mass on her left upper lobe of her lung. They stated her left  lung was collapsed, she had fluid on it and also had Pneumonia. Moving down to her hips, they saw a mass on her hip bone. From there on, the team at
Cascade Medical instructed her to get down to MSTI (Mountain States Tumor Institute) in Boise ASAP, as they were certain she had cancer.

Mom had called me soon after she found out the news. I knew in my gut something was wrong, but you never can
prepare yourself to hear the news that your mom has cancer. You almost have an out of body experience, not sure
what to even do at that moment.

Once mom made it down to Boise, they ran more tests, and the doctors decided to admit her to the hospital. Since
she didn't have insurance, this was the best option to get her the care she needed in the fastest way possible.

She spoke with an oncologist that night, who after reviewing her MRI, confirmed she was 90% sure it
was indeed cancer.  She would be scheduled to have a biopsy in the next couple days to find the extent of the type
and stage.

After her biopsy, and more scans, we had the results.

On 2/4/19, her oncologist confirmed she had stage 4
non-small cell adenocarcinoma lung cancer. It is rated at stage 4 as she has two large tumors, one in her left lung, and one on her left hip. The tumor on her left lung has completely blocked the the upper lobe, which ins't allowing for air to fill her lung. She is essentially only using her right lung to breath, which has proven to be very difficult. Small tasks or walking a few feet, get her winded pretty quickly.   The oncologist stated with treatment, she can prolong her life
anywhere from 6 months to many years. It will all depend on how her body will respond to her treatment plan.

After a couple more weeks of waiting on tests, we finally have a treatment plan for her.

She will have 4 treatments of combined chemo/immunotheraphy. She will be scanned after the treatments to see
how the cancer is responding to it. If the scan is good, she will continue on only immunotheraphy.

I have decided to start a gofundme for her, as she does not have insurance to cover this catastrophic event.
She lives in a very very supportive community and has a lot of good people behind her on this. We are truly
blessed with all their efforts they have Selflessly chosen to do for her. We have been told each round of treatment
comes with a $200,000 price tag. I cant even begin to fathom how that is affordable to anyone - but you certainly can not put a price on life.  I am hoping this gofundme will help to ease the burden of some bills that have already begun
coming in.

I do not want my mom to stress about the cost of this at this time - she needs all the positivity and strength to
get her through this battle and very long road ahead of her.

Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers!

~If you know Sally, you know she is strong, stubborn, good-hearted, and will find courage to beat this!~

Thank you for taking a moment!
