Street2School Support Group aims to provide quality education for out-of-school, street children in underserved areas and rural communities in Nigeria. There are more than 10million out of school children in Nigeria, already.

In response to this societal need, in April 2015, my organisation, Street2School Initiative did set up a not-for-profit school for poor children, called Helpers' Academy (formely known as Haven Schools). Basically, our aim is to provide quality education for every child, regardless of the circumstances. Our targets are primary school drop outs and out of school, street kids.

UPDATE
In 2015,  we kicked off the school with 3 out of school children, and by January 2017, we have over 120 children that we serve.

Due to recent rainstorm in the community, many structures were destroyed, and buildings collapsed. Our school was affected. Hence, it is not a safe place any more.

Our aspiration is to build a permanent school structure where more children would have opportunity to learn in a safer environment. And, also support families of our scholars who whose homes collaped.  We do not want the aspiration of the kids to be truncated, anymore.

Kindly help us to build a school for the poor and street kids.

We are motivated to do this because we believe that in every child lies an iota of greatness, waiting to be explored.  And, your support is crucial to making this a reality. Thank you.

Importantly, we thank everyone who has been part of our success story in Ikola Community, Alimosho LGA, Lagos state. Your support has made it possible for over 120 formerly primary school drop-outs and street kids to be back in the classroom. Thank you for rekindling hope! Thank you for every penny extended on and offline. It matters. Our heart-felt thanks.

An Update:
On Monday, 30th of March, 2017,
We experienced turbulent wind and rainstorm..in the community we work and lots of houses were brought low. Our school building affected, flooded. And, many other houses shattered. Deaths, recorded of a pregnant woman and, a bike rider. It was devastating.
15% of our learners' home were destroyed, and, at present they are struggling with homelessness.

Kindly find attached photos, when we visited our scholars' home.

Because these houses and, our non profit school were built in areas not approved by the government. The government has promised to demolish every structure in some weeks time.

Our Strategic Plan?
To raise fund to support our scholars' families that were affected, so that these children wouldn't be back on the street, again without formal education.

We are raising fund also, to acquire a land and build a permanent school structure where street and Out of School children can have access to quality education.
