STRANGER Short Film

Meet us, the team behind the short film STRANGER. We are director, writer and producer Peter Skinner and actor, producer Joel Jackson. Peter and Joel met in Sydney, 2013 whilst Peter was studying Directing at the Australian Film Television and Radio School (AFTRS) and Joel studying acting at the National Institute of Dramatic Arts (NIDA). The two developed a keen dialogue and friendship through their mutual love of film, story and filmmaking, which has led them to work on many projects and most recently STRANGER.

STRANGER follows a wanderer as he drifts through a bar and motel of an Australian outback mining town until he finds himself questioning his own identity, after making an unexpected connection with a motel maid.

Your support will ensure that we (Peter and Joel) can complete the final stages of film post production, including but not limited to; ADR, Visual FX, Music Composition, Colour Grading, Sound Design, Subtitles, Sound Mix and Entries into National and International Short Film Festivals.

We aim to LOCK the short film off by late June/early July with the funds raised from your support going straight into making this film a fresh, exciting and stylistic short from two young Australian film makers. Your support will not only mean everything to us, but allow us to share our work, passion and vision with the world. Imagine, if you will, if STRANGER were to screen at MIFF (Melbourne International Film Festival) or at the Berlinale Film Festival in Berlin! It would most definitely change the course of our careers and an opportunity such as this would not to go wasted. We have poured our time, creativity and heart into this piece with the help of an extremely talented and hard working all Australian cast and crew. So all who contributed their creative gifts will benefit from STRANGER screening first at Film Festivals then via YouTube and other online content servers. It would mean we can walk into any room and meet producers from across the globe and say, “this is what we have to offer.” And we would be the proudest people in the world. We will and shall cherish your support if we are lucky enough to have it.
