In his 12 years of life, Stormy Waters has made a lot of human friends. He's a dog that has consistently brought smiles to people's faces everywhere we've gone, and he's a chihuahua that has changed people's minds about chihuahuas, and even inspired them to adopt their own.
We all dread that day when we must say our goodbyes to our best and most loyal friends and last night I was suddenly faced with that choice after Stormy developed breathing problems and after a visit to the ER vet, was told Stormy was suffering congestive heart failure.
The choice was to say goodbye forever right then, or come up with the money to save him, to give him a chance to live, perhaps another year, perhaps more. I absolutely cannot afford the cost of vet bills and medicine on my own, but I felt that failing him in his time of need was something I just couldn't do. He wouldn't not come to my rescue. I certainly couldn't not come to his.
And so I turn to you for help. Some of you reading this may know him well, some of you may never meet him, but I ask you all that if you'd like to help give him a bit more time on this Earth, that you donate what you can.
Thank you so much for your help, of any amount. And Stormy thanks you too. He just isn't ready to go yet. The world is simply too amazing of a place, with so many smells to smell, so much cheese to taste, and so many faces to lick.
