Stolen Laptop and Photo Gear

As many of you know, I was up in SF on tour with a band shooting photos for them over this past weekend. While we were out taking photos in the city our van was broken into; literally in the blink of an eye after being gone for 10-15 minutes some thieves smashed the passenger window and ransacked nearly $20,000 dollars worth of gear including some very personal and priceless items on top of everything musicians carry on the road.
Fortunately, and truly most importantly, no one was hurt by this robbery. Gear can be replaced, but people or injuries cannot be. The SFPD did not come to the scene of the crime after a few hours of calling and waiting for them; even with the nearest police station being only a few blocks away from where this happened. We ended up going to the station to file an incident report after that time in which they gave little faith in any items being recovered or found. All nearby security footage was checked around the area and nothing was found to show any evidence from the robbery unfortunately.
Out of this loss, I lost close to $3,000 dollars worth of equipment that is necessary for my work. I lost a MacBook Pro laptop, an external hard drive full of the last months worth of photos, a camera book bag, all of my chargers (laptop, camera battery, phone), a Nikon D4s battery pack that is hard to get stores to keep in stock, an external flash, and a random assortment of clothes that were all inside my bag in the back of the bus. My camera lenses and body are insured luckily, and those were in my possession during this, and other items were not.
On top of this loss was also the sad reality that these incidents can occur in the blink of an eye; taking away any sort of sense of security on the road and knowing that these incidents occur far too often, and people traveling can truly never be safe.
Everyone who knows me knows how important my photos are to me, and some of these may never ever be replaced or found. Along with the gear and still being shook up by the whole occurrence; and the terror of walking back to a crime that occurred just feet away from where you were.
Please feel free to donate to this campaign or share in any groups or friends that you may have to help me get this gear back. Being a working photographer; this gear is stuff that I use everyday and need to get back as soon as possible to get back to work. I know it is close to the holiday season and it is hard to save any money towards something like this, but any help is greatly appreciated during this rough time. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, and I know I will be back to shooting very soon!
