Help us save the threatened snow leopard!

The snow leopard is an icon for the mountains of Asia, including the Himalayas--but this big cat is threatened with extinction. To protect the species, the Snow Leopard Trust  works in collaboration with local herding communities in snow leopard habitat--and some of the cat's greatest advocates are kids!

But with intensifying social and economic changes occurring in key regions of snow leopard habitat, including India, Kyrgyzstan, and Mongolia, children and young adults--even those living in the mountains--are becoming increasingly disconnected from nature. Children no longer accompany their parents into pastures to herd livestock. Their exposure to nature has been reduced. Many schools have no formal curriculum to impart knowledge and pride in natural heritage, or teach children about local wildlife.

But you can change that. You can support outreach and environmental education for teachers and children in snow leopard habitat.

Donate here to support:

Eco-camps for kids--we take children on week-long sleep-over camps in the mountains to experience the wonders of snow leopard habitat, and learn how to conserve threatened wildlife

Nature Clubs for schools--we support school-based clubs where entire classrooms can participate in talks, walks, and outdoor activities from tree plantings and trash clean-ups to discussions about global climate change

It doesn't take much. Just $50 can send one child to eco-camp in snow leopard habitat. Just $100 can help an entire school take part in a Nature Club activity.

You can bring joy and pride to thousands of children and support their role as 'conservationists of tomorrow.
