Stevie's Cancer Support

In October 2016 Stevie was diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer.  It was explained that Stevie would have her Thyroid removed and also some Lymph Nodes, as the cancer had spread into these. In November 2016 Stevie underwent the surgery and had the thyroid removed and 19 lymph nodes of which 9 were cancerous. After six weeks Stevie underwent Radioactive Iodine treatment which is a form of chemo only used for Thyroid Cancer. Just before the treatment stevie had a set of scans which showed that there were more cancerous Lymph Nodes in her neck, and that there was something in her lungs. In short Stevie will probably need to undergo another surgery to remove these Nodes and have another round or two of Treatment. As for the spot on her lungs she will have more tests to see if it is thyroid cancer cells or something more sinister.  Unfortunately they can only do Stevies treatment every 6-9 months as it is specifically targeted to attack the cancer cells in her body and is quite powerfull as it makes her radioactive therefore she has a very long hard road ahead. Stevie has been unable to work due to the debilitating effects of this disease and is struggling to pay her bills and on going living expenses.
