Send Steve to Battle of Nations

I'm Steve Pearson.  A 27 year old man who also happens to be an amputee with big dreams and ambitious goals.   3 years ago I joined The Company of the White Wolf, a Medieval Combat Club here in the Yukon, where I have learned the art of German fencing techniques, and  have competed in the Yukon and Montreal for duel categories in Longsword, Sword and Shield, and Sword and Buckler.  I have led training classes for the club with new and veteran members, as well as advancing my own training with my comrades and my mentor Jose Martinez.    Fighting for Team Canada at the IMCF World Championships; www.medieval-combat.net, in Scotland at Scone Palace May 10th to 13th.  This is a competition where the world's best Historical Medieval fighters come to compete for their countries and battle it out in the lists.  My goal and dream is to step foot on the world stage at this prestigious event and fight for my country and territory.  Not only did I qualify to fight on the International stage for Canada, but I would be one of the few, if not the only, amputee to ever make it this far. With your support, I would be able to travel to and from Scotland, pay for room and board as well as transportation while over there.  Going to the IMCF World Championship and competing against some of the best Historical Medieval Combat fighters in the world would not only achieve the goal I had set in my mind, but it would also go a long way in inspiring those who live with a disability that no bar is too high and that nothing is impossible. What a journey!  7 years ago I had my right leg amputated due to a medical mishap.  From that day forward I have had to relearn many of the things that I had previously done with ease and taken for granted, such as walking, running, balance, climbing stairs and all sorts of other normal tasks that are effected.  I've had to really channel my perseverance and have made a commitment to myself that I will face down challenges and pursue my goals with tenacity.  I have learned that life does not stop, so why should I. 7 years later, I have pushed and challenged myself in a diverse number of arenas.  I have hiked to the top of mountains, and go paddle boarding with my dog Lexi.  Dirt biking, snowmobiling,  hunting expeditions, and bush crafting are some of my passions, all taking place in the extreme, untouched wilderness of the Yukon back country.  I have had to re-establish what my limits are because I no longer knew them.  I just knew that if someone else could do it, why couldn't I. I tremendously appreciate any donations you are able to give, as well as you sharing my story with others as funds need to be raised with some urgency.  The deadline to IMCF Championships is short with the competition taking place May 10th to 13th, so the bulk of contributions will need to be in by the end of April.  I want to extend my gratitude to you for all contributions, shares and likes as this will help me achieve my goals.  The experience of going to the World Championships will allow me to  further my skill and knowledge in the sport so that I can bring it home and pass it on through training with other members of our club.   Please check out the links and have a look at the Company of the White Wolf facebook page.
