Steve Fussell's Funeral Expenses

Donation protected

Steve transitioned to the afterlife on Sunday November 13, 2016 in the early morning at Shands Hospital in the arms of his beloved Niki.  Steve suffered from an unknown cancer that started in his lung and spread to his spine fracturing his C5 cervical vertebrae.  He suffered in chronic pain for months being misdiagnosed until it was too late to save him.  I am raising funds on behalf of his wife Andrea (Niki) Pewsey and will be transfering all monies to her directly from my checking account when the funds are released.

Knowing Steve, you know how caring, generous, and understanding he was.  He graduated from Bishop Moore High and went to college at FSU.  He had a life of many travels, experiences, and careers.  Being such an amazing soul he began his adult life as a social worker for runaways. Many chapters and skills in his lifetime lead him to own an ad agency, write press releases for public relations firms, and his all time favorite was being the dishwasher at YabYum and Doorman at The Go Lounge.  Steve loved Downtown Orlando and the cast of characters he met along the way.

Steve was the eldest of five brothers.  He was born in Alabama, but considered himself a native Floridian and loved the ecology Florida swamps and rivers offered. He canoed and fished and collected vintage lures. He also loved books. He read and researched and wrote stories, novels, and even helped out with a comic book about another of his favorite topics, pirates.  His thirst for knowledge made him an amazing person to listen to.

The last decade of his life brought him to Fruitland park where he and his wife Niki opened up the Fruitland Park Cafe.  Steve enjoyed his customers so much and loved hearing their stories and exchanging life experiences.  He never took a paycheck from the cafe. He was always more concerned with giving others the opportunity to work and make a living.

Steve passing was so sudden and unexpected and no one was prepared for this.  Please donate what you can.
