Sterling "Buck" Hampton Recovery

$4,000 of $10,000 goal

Raised by 45 people in 6 months
!!UPDATE 31MAY18- Fallen Lineman Organization (FLO) has graciously offered to double any funds we donate in Buck's name to them!!  All funds received by this fund will be donated to the FLO so they can be doubled and given to Buck and Sharon.

My brother, (a proud and hardworking Lineman) Sterling 'Buck' Hampton was injured while working on a power line on May 21, 2018; he suffered 3rd-degree burns on his left arm, 2nd-degree burns over 50% of his body, and was life-flighted to a burn unit in Shreveport, LA.  On May 24th (his 30th birthday) the doctors took him into surgery to remove the dead tissue and see how bad the damage was and determined they will have to amputate his left arm.  Buck is the primary provider for his wife and four children and will not be able to work for some time.  Funds are being raised to assist with medical costs, gas, child care, travel, lodging, and regular expenses while he is in treatment away from their home.

I thank you all for any and all support you can provide.  Small donations are as welcome as the large ones; every dollar is going to help him on his long road to recovery.

IF STRENGTH WAS CURRENCY WE WOULDN'T BE IN THIS SITUATION.

Picked up mom this weekend so we could visit Buck and Sharon last weekend. When I walked in I could not help but tear up just seeing him smile at me and being able to gently give him a hug. His face exuded strength and a desire to get past this and on to the next challenge.

He has gone through more than we can imagine in the last few weeks and still has more to go. While he was scheduled for five skin grafts that were going to be spread out a little, they decided to do all of them at once last Friday. He is wrapped tight in hopes that the five areas will bond and begin to heal.

Once we figured out where we could set things down and settle in I informed Buck I would be his nurse for the weekend so Sharon could sleep in an actual bed and get a little rest. We made it through the night and the staff was a huge help. Buck is quickly getting to the point of trying to do more for himself and pushing more and more when the therapist comes in to conduct a session.

While he smiles when he can and laughs at the occasional joke, behind all of that is a man concerned about what the future holds for him and his family. Please continue to share with any and all who may help, pray for his recovery and strength for his family, and contribute what you can. The Fallen Lineman Organization has confirmed they will match all funds generated on Buck's behalf. A small donation of $10 will be the same as $20!!

From his wife, Sharon Hampton:

My husband Sterling Hampton and I want to thank everyone for all the love and support we have received over the past week. As some of you know, we have been waiting to see a specialist to find out if there was even a small chance that they could save his left arm. Well we finally met with the surgeon this morning. There is not enough living tissue in his upper arm to save so he will go to surgery Friday to have it amputated. After that we will start with the skin grafts. There is a significant amount of burned skin to remove. He will need several skin grafts over the next few weeks. It's tough now and it will get worse before it gets better, but I know that we will make it. Thank you all for the prayers and support, it means so much to the both of us, and please keep him in y'alls thoughts on Friday!

From me: Please continue to share in hopes of support. Trying to work with a organization who may be able to match part of the donations!!

Just about bed time here and I want to thank all of you for your support. There has been a little confusion on the two accounts created to help out my brother, Sterling 'Buck" Hampton. Luck for Buck was created for the same reason this one was; to try and get as much support for a great Lineman, father, brother, and son. Both accounts began generating momentum and receiving donations from the start and neither of us wanted to do anything to stifle that. Please be patient while we figure out how to consolidate the accounts. Please continue to share and pray for his continued recovery.
