Full Marathon for Samaritan Ministry
Donation protected
I have been training for a full marathon on March 28, 2020, and despite the (sensible!) cancellation of the public event, I plan to run the marathon distance anyway. I am now running to earn support for the Samaritan Ministry of Greater Washington, a faith-based organization that helps and advocates for our unsheltered neighbors. This was a favorite cause of John Jaskot, friend and senior warden of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Burke. John recently left us quite suddenly, but his enthusiasm and positive witness to the love (and good humor!) of God endures in our hearts forever. I hope to earn a minimum of $100 /mile on the run, or $2620.00. Here's more information about Samaritan Ministry: https://www.samaritanministry.org. Your support will go to them in John's name.
I will be designing my course over the next couple of days. Some of my friends will be joining me to cheer me on or (if they want to be hardcore!) running part of the course with me. If you'd like to participate on any level, including just throwing an energy gel at me along the route, message me on Facebook.
Thank you so much!
