Statue for Babyland Fundraiser

My name is Sarah Bertola. I am the Mother of a sweet little girl, Alice, who passed away in January of 2017 from SIDS, and the creator of aliceandafter.com, a blog about childloss.

I heard about the efforts being made to raise money for the statue in Babyland when I was pregnant with Alice. Even then, the project resonated with me and my husband and we drove over an hour to attend a benefit concert for the cause.

Here we are almost a year later, now with our own daughter, Alice, buried there, and we are still trying to raise the necessary funds for the statue. But now we have been given a strict deadline. We must raise the remaining $11,000 before July 31st of this year (2017) and I know we can do it! ANY amount helps.

I remember when a GoFundMe was created on our behalf after Alice passed away. My very favorite donation was for $2.00 from a close childhood friend I had since lost contact with. I know she is a poor college student, and I loved that she wasn’t afraid to give just $2.00. She was not embarrassed by the amount. She was proud to have helped how she could and it really touched my heart.

As part of the effort to make the remaining funds necessary I teamed up with one of my favorite friends, @bradiejill from theposhpine.com to make this video about the statue in Babyland. It features myself and two other Mother’s who have children buried in Babyland. I hope you will watch it, consider making a donation, but FOR SURE share, share, share!
