Starving Writer Fund Drive

Donation protected

Back in the USA.

Modifying this separate fund drive for just myself, to cover some of my business expenses while working on that Joint Venture Fund Drive that I terminated previously because it was mostly self-funded and only brought about 20 Euros.  The goal for that was much more, but I was asking for much less than that and still got only about 20 Euros,  actually probably less than that because of commissions that GoFundMe and STRIPE get, but still almost 20 Euros.

This one is for 2500 Euros because it is for my business expenses as a starving writer.

I had a lot of personal and business expenses in Europe, and I have quite a few more now that I am back in the USA.

- Medicare (which I get because of disability) did not cover my medical or prescription drug expenses (or dental) while I was in Europe, so I had to pay out of pocket for those expenses.  A dental crown alone cost close to 1000 Euros, and I paid out of pocket for clinic appointments and medications, probably close to 2000 Euros all told.

- Food, shelter, and clothing add up to quite a bit when one is basically a tourist traveling all over Europe.  Expenses related to hostels, fast-food restaurants, laundromats, personal hygiene products, cell phone and internet service,  entertainment and other things needed to maintain that kind of lifestyle add up to a lot.

Now that I am back in the USA, with most of my personal belongings either donated, sold or no longer functioning, I need to purchase some new (mostly used or broken items) in order to keep operating a startup that almost failed.

Things that I urgently need are:

1.  Used iPhone 6 or greater (stolen from me in Austria).
2.  Used iMac or MacBook (stolen from me in Austria), although coping with a donated Samsung RV511 that mostly works.
3.  Transportation (can probably wait while I manage with public transportation).
4.  Cash / Operating capital.
5.  A relatively inexpensive Yamaha keyboard (bored out of my mind being on disability).

- The book, and possibly a movie project (still a possibility), also takes up a lot of time.  Transportation in Europe was really important, and I spent quite a bit on buses, trains, planes and other forms of transportation.  I even flew back to Ukraine once basically to pay a VISA-overstay fine and then traveled back to Austria using other forms of transportation.  I flew to Copenhagen, Denmark because at the time I was obsessed with the book and movie project and wanted to see the castle from William Shakespeare's play, "Hamlet".  I even have an e-mail address for William Shakespeare with a domain name that matches the domain name for one of my websites, which is kind of cool really because I have used that e-mail address to register my electronic equipment at Starbucks so that I can use their WiFi to work on my book and movie projects.

- Now that I am back in the USA with a reliable internet connection while living in a relatively inexpensive room in a house I should have much more time to develop the business, website, and also to possibly keep working on the book project.  The website is at Some Idiots Are Savants Website

-  I did return to the USA to get some medical problems attended to, namely an inguinal hernia repair, some sort of cardiac issue that  I do not want to get into specifics about and others, including ongoing care.  I tried to have these addressed in Europe and could not because I could not afford to pay for treatment there out of pocket.

I should say that, for now, my problem with getting my SSA Disability payments on time has improved somewhat, but it is still far from ideal (for some reason the SSA never did mail me temporary passwords to get back into my online SSA account, and they still have not done so, so I will have to politely appear in one of their local offices to rectify the manner in which I get paid by them).  Also, I was out of the USA for entire 2017 calendar year, and Medicare tax is withheld from my SSA Disability payments.  That really annoys me because I paid into the Medicare fund and I got almost absolutely no benefits from doing so.

I might mention something about the photo.

That cat's name is / was Simon.  Simon had this habit of jumping up on top of that HP Color Laserprinter whenever I printed anything out using the printer.  I think he was fascinated by the noise and the paper, but I liked to think that he actually knew what was coming out of the printer.  I gave Simon away when I left the USA.  That was not an easy thing to do, but it is really difficult to bring a pet along with you on a long personal and business trip to Europe.
