Who am I?

I am Stan Lemons, speaker and author of the book Expanding College Opportunity. I have a passion for education and a desire to help students pursue higher education. 

Why am I raising money?

As I look to the start of 2019, I  am renewing my effort to help more low-income students go to college. I plan to do more pro bono speaking engagements on the college admissions and financial aid processes. As such, I am re-launching my campaign to raise money in order to produce copies of the Expanding College Opportunity book and student workbook and to cover some of the costs involved with my college access workshops. Why is this work important? When you consider that 40% of low-income students don't go to college because they believe they can't afford it (The Hechinger Report), the need to close the information gap and to encourage more students to pursue their dreams is all the more important. The Expanding College Opportunity book and student workbook, along with my college admissions and financial aid workshops, are valuable tools to help with this cause.
