Stage 4 Support for Sherry Richards

Two months. My heart sank when I heard my dearest friend speak these words. This was the prognosis given if they can't find a treatment that will knock the cancer back. My name is Sharon Vargo, and Sherry Richards is my dearest friend. She was diagnosed with Metaplastic breast cancer with triple-negative tumors on 5/3/2017.
Sherry began chemo treatments immediately following her diagnosis and before having surgery to remove a tumor and lymph nodes on 9/11/2017. Life was celebrated during the cancer-free months that followed, and until a recurrence In Dec of 2018. A new Chemo treatment was tried, followed by surgery on April 15, 2019, to remove the tumor, and then more radiation. This past July 1, Sherry noticed multiple small blister-like spots on her breast which she prayed were from the radiation. The news was not good and Sherry entered Stage 4. The spots are numerous now, completely disfiguring her breast. The Oncologist will continue to try different kinds of chemo as long as Sherry is up for it, in hopes of finding one that will impact this highly agressive and difficult to treat cancer. Sherry will have a new port put in to start chemo in the next week.
Although Sherry has been unable to keep her dental hygienist position, she is working hard to still be a mom to her two teenage boys, adopted 15 years ago. She is on continuous pain medications, fluid needs to be drained periodically from around her lungs so that she can breathe, and anemia is causing further weakness. She has told me that she's not afraid to die, and admits there are times when she wishes she could fall asleep and not wake. But she sure wishes she could see her youngest son graduate from High School next Spring!
The purpose of this fundraiser is to allow Paul Richards the ability to make ends meet while taking time off of work to support and share time with this wife.
