UST Mock Trial needs more funding for our upcoming year and we're asking for your help.
I cannot describe how much college mock trial helped me in law school and in life. It opened doors for me that would not have been accessible without this activity. After my time competing was finished, I started coaching because I wanted to make sure that more people had access to the wonderful world of college mock trial.
Coaching at UST has opened my eyes to how difficult some aspects of building a program can be. I was lucky enough to study at a school with a long history of success and many years of experience. At UST, we're still trying to push our program to new bounds. Almost every year, we get to celebrate "firsts" or "bests", because we continue to grow and improve.
Our students put so much effort and time into perfecting their craft, and the allocation of money we get from the school isn't enough to cover the costs of traveling far and wide to compete. For the past couple of years, we have relied upon funding from a student allocations board because we have had some mockers who are involved in a wide variety of activities on campus, but that funding is not sustainable enough for us to continue to grow as a program.
