St. Mary's Life Teen 2017-2018

Dear Parishioners, Parents, Alumni, and Friends of St. Mary's Life Teen,
On Sunday, September 17th we will be celebrating our 20th anniversary as a Life Teen program at St. Mary's in Dedham. The anniversary will be celebrated by a whole weekend event to thank all former core, alumni, and parents who have come through this program and to also invite new teens and their families to join us. The weekend will then cap off with the most important part, the Mass. We are looking forward to another great year of leading teens closer to Christ and setting the foundation for this program to go another 20 years. Having gone through this program myself when I was in high school, it is a truly awesome experience to be celebrating 20 years of leading teens closer to Christ and seeing how much this program has grown and thrived.
This year we are very excited for all of the upcoming opportunities and events for our teens. Our program is continually trying to grow better and offer different ways for our teens to know Christ better and to also build up our community here into a family. From our Sunday Life Teen Mass and Life Nights, to different social events, to the different service projects we do, our goal is to always grow closer to Christ. Our Core team that volunteers at our program is the lifeline to that process and we are always looking for more Core members to come and join our team.
As many of you know, our Life Teen program has had to fundraise our operating budget in an attempt to work with the parish budget and balance out our expenses. Many of our programs are run by parents and volunteers but the events themselves still require funding for them to operate. It is the reason we turn to funding through pledges from mission partners from the parish. Many have donated in the past and have helped to keep our program going and we are extremely thank you for all those who have helped out in the past. For the coming 2017-2018 year, our goal is to reach $30,000.
We ask that you consider in supporting St. Mary's Life Teen for his coming year by becoming a Mission Partner by making a pledge to our 2017-2018 funding campaign. You can do so in the following ways:

Here are some examples of how your donations can be used: $175 Sponsors a teen who can't afford to attend our Fall or Spring retreat; $110 Fills the Life Teen van to attend different social and service events; $125 covers the refreshment cost for a week of prayer opportunities, homework assistant, and team community building.

So many of the teens that come through the doors of our parish have had their lives changed because of this program. I am one of those teens. When I was in high school I came through this program and it became like a second home to me. I met my best friends here, I grew deeper in my faith than I ever thought possible, and it was the foundation of my high school career that than led me here today, coming full circle and now being the youth minster of the program. I, and many others are living witnesses and testaments to just how effective this program is. Many more teens will come through and their lives will be changed as well, all because of your donation that keep our program going and allow us to fully minister to these teens. Through your donations and funding, we can focus more on our main goal of leading teens closer to Christ. On behalf of Fr. Wayne, Fr. Mark, and our whole core team, I want to personally thank you for your continuous financial support, prayers, and volunteer support to our program and to our teens.
