St John's/Joined Hands Thanksgiving

The Joined Hands Food Pantry based at St. John's Lutheran in Chicago has been a resource to families in need on Chicago's northwest side for a decade, and for several years we have put on a Thanksgiving day meal open to the public. Many people who would otherwise have nowhere to go on Thanksgiving come and get a great meal with great camaraderie to boot.

Last year we turned to the community for financial help so we could put this event on, and it was a great success. This year we are asking for your help again.

In 2017 we were seeking $3800 from the community. This year we have been very fortunate with private donations and so we are only seeking $1800. Your donations will help us buy food and supplies to make this meal possible. Our goal is to raise these funds by November 10th, about two weeks before Thanksgiving.

The Joined Hands Food Pantry is open from 6PM to 8PM every Wednesday at St. John's Lutheran, 4939 W Montrose, and is open to all Northwest Side residents in need of food. We welcome all regardless of race, religion, gender or orientation. You can like us on Facebook here.
