It has been brought to my attention that Mr. Orest Katolyk and his family have been subject to the same terrible personal abuse and rancor to which Nancy has been subjected over this.
Please be aware that in no way is Orest to blame for what happened here. His only role was as spokesperson for the City. Orest is a man of great integrity and compassion. He is literally my favourite person at City Hall. It is terrible that he, and especially his family, have been subjected to this.
The sting was carried out by a City staff person who gave the apparently fake name "Chris" and has remained anonymous. Any management decisions were carried out "above Orest's pay grade", by people who have also remained anonymous.
Please do everything you can to spread the word that in no way should Orest be blamed. Please do not contact Orest, unless it is to apologize for any mistaken criticism of him.

Thanks so much to the 70 donors who donated almost three times our goal - and ensured that this disabled cancer survivor would not be saddled with a ticket she could never have hoped to pay.
We hope that she will soon be back volunteering by seeing patients safely to and from hospital after procedures, but in a manner which is acceptable to the City.
Your concern and support for our disabled fellow Londoners is inspiring to me!
