May 6, 2019 will mark the Feast Day for the community of St. George, This is commonly referred to as, "St. George Day." His Grace, Bishop David Mahaffey is scheduled to visit St. George Island - one of two inhabited islands in the Pribilof Archipelago, to celebrate this festive occasion.

Parishioners of the community of St. George have not had a service held in the presence of a bishop for quite some time. The last time the community had a divine liturgy with a high ranking member of the church was when His Grace, Bishop Nikolai visited, nearly a decade ago.

A planning committee has been formed, and was tasked with determining the logistics to bring His Grace Bishop Mahaffey to the island for the celebration. They have agreed to charter Ace Air Cargo to the island to ensure a successful on-time arrival of His Grace, clergy, and a choir to help conduct the weekend services. At this time, there are tentatively 16 attendees making the flight to St. George, nearly half being current and former community members.

We are seeking additional monetary contributions to supplement the expenses for this occasion. With your help, we can make St. George Day a success!
