SRNA UPR AANA Congress and MYA Fund

Greetings from Puerto Rico!:

We are a group of graduate students enrolled in the Nurse Anesthesia Program at the University of Puerto Rico, Medical Sciences Campus, in San Juan, Puerto Rico.  Nine of us, are planning to attend the 2018 American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA) Annual Congress to be held in Boston, Massachusetts from September 21-25, 2018.  For many of us, this experience will be the first time we get to attend such stimulating and exciting event. Unfortunately, due to last year’s Hurricane Maria’s devastating impact on Puerto Rico, most SRNAs from our program were unable to attend the 2017 AANA Annual Congress held in Seattle, Washington. However, it is our desire to attend the 2018 AANA Annual Congress in Boston, Massachusetts.   We understand the importance of this event in enhancing our professional growth and development; providing networking opportunities with fellow SRNAs and Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs); and supporting our parent association, the AANA.  We are excited about being involved and participating in the events that will be held during the Congress and the opportunities to meet our colleagues from the States.  As SRNAs, we strongly believe in the power of early involvement, exposure, and action.  Based on this experience and the information received, we plan to bring back to our school the plethora of knowledge and share with our peers.  To help us with expenses we are reaching out to you using Go Fund Me as the medium to request your financial assistance.

This is our first time using Go Fund Me and your financial support is appreciated and will assist us with the following:

Registration Fee for AANA Annual Congress - Student AANA Member:  $250 - $300 (each).

Thank you so much for your immense support to all of us!!! We send all of our gratitude to those who have been so kind to donate!!  You make us feel like we belong! We have reached our goal of $4,000 for the AANA Annual Congress.

Four of us: Maria Paula Rosario, Keisha Hampden, Dan Rosario, and Gabriel Vazquez-Lopez are interested in attending the 2018 Midyear Assembly in Washington DC.  Through this very campaign, we have been encouraged to do so by colleagues from state associations. That makes us feel even more excited about attending this event as well!

For that reason, all donations that come from now on and those above the $4000 initial goal will be directed to:

Registration and lodging expenses for the 2018 Midyear Assembly in Washington DC.

Registration: $160 (Each) + Lodging:  $1,200 (April 20th-25th)

We believe in the power of advocacy and are committed to be a part of all those strong voices who work on behalf of our profession.  We are certain that our NAP and community will benefit greatly from our presence there as well.

We want to THANK YOU again for your strong support and hope to see you in Washington, DC and Boston, MA! Please, continue making your donation and sharing this link! Greatly appreciated!

Some information about our group:
