Food for the Homeless

Donation protected

Every year near Christmas I ask my children to do something for someone less fortunate than themselves. Last night I went out into Cambridge to see for myself, the amount of people who are homeless and living on our streets. I was emotional to see the large amount of people sleeping on the hard floors with just a sleeping bag or a blanket to keep themselves warm.

I have collected over 67 sleeping bags and hats, gloves and scarfs that have been kindly donated from my local area. We are now hoping to raise a little bit of money to buy food, soups and thermal flasks and hand them out to as many homeless people in East Anglia between now and Christmas day.

I have spoken to a few of the shelters in the areas and they said they just don't have the room to accommodate the shear volume of people needing help.

If you can afford 50 pence - please donate and help us to help as many people as possible. We don't expect to change the world - just to help as many people as we possibly can.

If you can forgo the syrup in your coffee this morning or the packet of gum you normally buy, we would be eternally grateful. No amount is too small - as my dear Nan used to say "lots of pennies make a pound"

Thank you
