GoFundMe C Glee Camp “Step In Time” SUMMER 2018

We all know the power of music. Musical theater inspires, heals, motivates, directs, guides, unites us. C Glee at the Carnegie Library has become a bright light that shines in the small city of Connellsville, Pennsylvania. It is a city of great artistic talent. Many people of all ages from surrounding communities, look for an opportunity to participate. Sadly, many do not because of the performance costs incurred. After all, the materials, equipment, costuming included with producing a musical add up.
We are proposing this GoFundMe with this major goal in mind and heart:
ALL INCLUSIVE! It would be a delight to prepare and present the delightful musical, Mary Poppins, Jr., at NO COST to our performers.
We have many prospective performers that have to opt out because they do not have the money to buy a performance book or a costume or the required shoes.
With the generosity of so many music lovers throughout the WORLD, we believe that this goal is achievable!
As the director of C Glee, I have 40 years of experience in public education. I have devoted my life to the music education of “children” of all ages. This project has touched a nerve…children have cried because they don’t have the money to participate to pay for their own expenses. Families have tried to pay with food stamps or barter. These are difficult financial times, especially in this area of western Pennsylvania. I was inspired to make this effort to host a GoFundMe to see where this leads. I can only hope that the goodness of music advocates and sincere people will help us provide this opportunity to ALL of those looking for music and love in their lives this summer!
Just a “spoonful of sugar” will help. Thank you for your support of these young people and for your love and support of the arts in our communities!
