Hi

My name is Laura and I am mum to two beautiful little boys, Joshua aged 10 and Harry aged 7.

Joshua is a characteristic, enthusiastic kind little boy who adores his little brother - but his little brother is not like all his other friends siblings that can run and play with him.

Harry has a neuro degenerative condition. . Harry developed like a healthy child until the age of four then everything changed.

Joshua has had to take on the responsibilities of looking after a profoundly disabled brother threw the he used to like nothing better than being chased by him.

Harry is now unable to walk, talk, has lost his eye sight and I was now fed through a tube. . He also suffers uncontrollable epilepsy.

This is a difficult adaption for an adult to overcome let alone a child that still has so much to learn in life.

Joshua knows how to phone an ambulance, how to tube feed Harry, when to get his rescue Medication in an emergency and how to distinguish between seizures.

He has learned and seen things over the past three years that a nurse in training would find upsetting yet still keeps a smile on his face and does hid upmost to make sure his little brother keeps laughing and everyone is ok.

Joshuas whole life revolves around Harry with him always Putting Harry first. . If Joshua is invited out with out us his first question is always 'will Harry be ok'

Since Harry's diagnosis we have been fortunate enough that there have been numerous charities available to help with Harry's needs and give us some fantastic memories, however I have never found anything dedicated to siblings.

I have always thought it would be nice to give them a little treat just to boost their spirits and let them know what am important role they play.

I always worry that siblings are over looked and feel they aren't important as so much is focused on the poorly child. Often Joshua will comment don't worry about me look after Harry and it brings a guilty feeling.

With the help of you lovely people I would like to give them something special and put a smile on their face and let them know how appreciated and loved they are.

I would like to be able to purchase a nominated child a specific gift for upto the value of £150 to be delivered to them to say thank you for being a wonderful brother or sister. There would also be an option to nominate a bereaved sibling. (terms and conditions apply)
The details of the child and gift would be listed and any kind donations would be appreciated no matter how small.

Thank you for taking the time to read and if able to help in any way possible please message me.

Please make sure you keep watching our face book page as we progress and start helping children to see their smiles
