Spokane SART

Beth Sheeran & Aleshia King, Registered Nurses in emergency medicine & SANE (sexual assault nurse examiner) trained are attempting to start up a local community training for nurses to aid survivors of sexual assault. Spokane SART wants to ensure that nurses are SANE trained & available 24/7 in Spokane, WA. Currently, SANE services are hospital based & survivors are not guaranteed to have a SANE trained RN care for them. National standards & statistics indicate better outcomes judicially when a Sexual assault response team is in place. Close collaboration between law enforcement, state crime lab, prosecutors, SANE trained medical professionals, & community outreach resources is imperative for a survivor & their pathway to healing.
