Rottnest Channel Swim 2019
Solo Crossing 19.7km
Fundraising to bring hope and joy to the Children and families who spend time in the Rockingham Paediatric Ward.
This past 14 months my young grandson Ezekiel and family have spent periods of time at the Rockingham Paediatric Ward, along with weekly visits. The Paediatric Ward is a place of extreme emotions, from joy and laughter at times to pain and despair.
The experiences of separation from parents & siblings, along with overcoming obstacles of; discomfort, pain, anxious parents & children, tears, isolation from normal routine in familiar surroundings and trusting of others are only some of the struggles for families while in hospital.
We are so blessed to have the most amazing caring and dedicated Doctors, Nurses, Dieticians, staff and volunteers (Radio Lollipop) at Rockingham Paediatric Ward, but you don't appreciate how wonderful and significant the support for parents of sick or injured children is until you unfortunately need them.
Fortunately, our little Ezekiel is improving in his health, growing bigger and stronger by the day, while still under the beautiful medical team and the loving nature from the Radio Lollipop team.
My decision to raise much needed funds to purchase resources, either for inside activity or in the newly opened outdoor play area was an easy one which will bring a little Joy in times needed. The Rockingham Paediatric Ward is a decision from my heart. Not only from our families’ experience, but also close friends whose children have spent extended periods hospitals & to the amazing children and families you meet on the ward. The impact all staff have on our precious children & families is immeasurable.
Their work is so very important for our children, whether it be a short stay or long stay in Rockingham Paediatric Ward.
Any amount you can give will help our children
smile, play, feel more comfortable, have hope and bring joy while healing and becoming well.
You too can help by donating to my page.
Thankyou for all your support.
