Support Spirit Ride to Cannon Ball

We are currently battling the construction of the Dakota Access Pipeline, which will stretch from the Bakken in North Dakota to Patoka, Illinois, and will go under the second largest water resource in North America: the Missouri River. This is of great concern to anyone who gets their water from the Missouri. In North Dakota alone there have been 300 oil spills in the last two years. It is not a matter of if the pipeline will break, it's when, and how large the spill will be when it does.
This pipeline will affect many Native communities in particular. This pipeline has been quietly passed by tribal councils without any input from the people. On Standing Rock reservation in North Dakota, the pipeline is going to cross burial grounds and go directly beneath water reserves. People living on other reservations will have their water affected as well.
On April 1st, there will be a spiritual camp taking place at Cannon Ball in opposition to the pipeline. The spirit riders going up will be riding to the camp to show solidarity and support for those who will be camping there. Upon arrival at Cannon Ball, the riders will go to Cannon Ball District Gym, where a horse song will be sung to honor their horses, and then another song for Mother Earth.
The riders will meet up on March 31st, 2016. On April 1st, in the morning, spirit riders will participate in a one day ride from Sitting Bull's Burial Site in Fort Yates, ND to Cannon Ball, ND, ground zero of the Dakota Access Pipeline Project. In order for the ride to take place, they need transportation for their horses, water, and hay.
These funds will go towards securing transportation for horses, meals for the riders, fuel, and ensuring that the horses are fed and watered.
