Korea-Mr. Noh's inspirational film

Tax deductible
Thank you so much for visiting Special Olympics Korea. My name is Byoungho Kang and I am working in the organizational development department for Special Olympics Korea. During the Austria World Winter Game 2017, Special Olympics Korea is trying to create a short documentary film to inspire people with intellectual disabilities in the world, because we have an amazing athlete whose name is Young-Suk Noh and he has a great story to tell  the world. We obviously would like to take advantage of his story to help people with intellectual disabilities to have a dream and contribute to the social inclusion.

Due to the barrier of getting a fund internally for creating the video, we have to fundraise on our own. Any donation, even $1, will be so much appreciated because it will help us to get to our goal! I can’t thank you enough for supporting our goal to lead the world to the inclusive society. We look forward to your love.

Thank you

Young-Suk Noh

Young-Suk Noh is a college student and he is staying with a 14 year old sister in the welfare center called Hyesimwon. He has been staying in the center with the sister since he was 14 due to his family issue. Like many other disabled people, he was so much struggling. He always made 10 or 20 times more effort than non-disabled people did in order to learn something. What’s even worse, he didn’t have family to rely on and had to be independent from the young age, which was not really easy for even non-disabled people.

Despite the hard time, there was a big turning point that has changed him, which is Special Olympics. He has never felt what the motivation is in his life until he came across Special Olympics. His first participation in Special Olympics was 4 years ago. He participated in a soccer competition and won a medal at that time. It was his first time to realize what it means to feel achievement and how great it is to have a goal. Now days, he wants to inspire many other disabled people through his past experience. He is trying to deliver the same experience to them because he wants them to realize that they can achieve whatever dream they want as far as they are fully devoted. Most importantly, he wants to get them to have a goal.

To be a good role model, Young-Suk is making a huge devotion to his cross county training because he is going to participate in the Austria world winter game for the first time in his life. He is very excited and determined to win a medal and can’t wait to show the medal to his friends in the welfare center, because he wants to give them his dream.
