Special Olympic Sports Extravaganza

I work at Greg Rogers Elementary.  It's an amazing school filled with amazing students of different ability levels. We love showcasing the ability of all our students.  We want to share that not only can every student participate in academics, but they can also participate in athletics.  We try to do inclusion in all school activities.  Our students with disabilities are part of peace patrol, student body government,  art, music, etc... Athletics is one way we want all students to participate as a whole school. 

Greg Rogers Elementary is collaborating with Special Olympics for the 3rd year in a row to increase awareness in the importance of physical fitness and healthy living among all students, especially our students in Special Education.

General education students will be modeling various sports skills for their peers in Special Education. Each grade level, PK-6th grade, will be working on sports that unify students, promote inclusion, and a healthy lifestyle.
Last year we invited schools within the district to our event. This year we will be inviting other districts to participate. 

All grades PK-6th grade, will be working on shaping the fundamentals of fitness according to their physical Education standards.
