A fellowship that uses technology to create a non-traditional place of
life-affirming strength and worship everywhere to everyone.
This is the amount that will allow us to operate in 2019 without having to rob Peter to pay Paul. It will cover hosting for audio and web use. It will cover additional graphics needed for ads. It will cover hardware and software upgrades. It will cover some local travel. It will cover banking, taxes and other administrative fees.
Speak Life Church’s Pastor, Rev. Kenn Blanchard, is as non-traditional a spiritual leader as the non-traditional church he envisioned in 2000. His calling to continue the ministry of the Apostle Paul is grounded in dedication and service: to his country as a Marine and Federal Agent with the CIA; to the congregation of the Historic Berean Baptist Church in Washington DC where he was ordained and served as pastor for seven years; and to those in spiritual need now.
As the Apostle Paul spoke of the importance of each person’s life growing closer to Jesus by letters and sermons, so too is that message continued today by means of the modern technology of weekly podcasts, videos, social media, live streaming, postings via email and websites using the Internet.
The Speak Life Church is not about bricks and mortar. It’s not a building. It’s not even about technology. Speak Life Church is a living, dynamic community of fellowship. It’s about learning and growing in the life-affirming faith of Jesus. It’s about serving whether person-to-person or on-line.
The Speak Life Church serves every community: first responders in the military (active and separated), law enforcement, firefighters, bikers, outdoorsmen and women, parents, those of differing religious denominations and those who identify with no formal religion as well. That service extends from officiating at weddings and funerals to counseling troubled marriages, the terminally ill, and potential suicides. It might involve saving a disabled veteran’s home, providing a service dog for the blind, or simply taking a senior citizen fishing. There is nolimit to the spiritual and temporal comfort the Speak Life Church might provide. Its ministry has done much, but it has so much more yet to do!
