SPARCS summer holiday activities



Please consider a donation for SPARCS no matter how small to help our families access there local communities.
Your donations would enable us to continue to run weekly activities throughout the summer holidays  at a reduced rate.

We want to subsidise the cost directly to families to minimalise the financial barrier to the children/young people who can attend.
SPARCS is an inclusive group and siblings, friends and all members of the family are always welcome.
Reducing the cost can enable more families to access our activities, this would help to take away some of the isolation that special needs families often feel.
We hope we can give the families we work with the empowerment and confidence to be more of a part of their local community.

Last summer we received feedback and one of the stand out comments was “we wouldn’t have had a summer of it wasn’t for SPARCS” this is a powerful statement and drives us to further develop our already existing summer holiday programme .

A little more information about us... SPARCS is a grass root level local community support group, run by a committee of 8 dedicated volunteers.
The aim of SPARCS is to support families living with autism and other related conditions in the North East.
To build confidence, develop skills and promote social activities and inclusion in our local communities.
We do this by, posting information, events and meet ups via our Facebook group as well as sharing our own experiences, successes and struggles.
We form weekly meet ups for our children and young people to have fun with others, socialise whilst playing and taking part in activities.
We organise these regular meet ups at various venues in our local communities, where we can go together with our children and young people make friends and build confidence.
SPARCS believes in caring for the carers too. We offer monthly meet ups where parents and carers can come together in a welcoming, comfortable, safe and friendly environment to socialise without judgement.
We run these meet ups to give parents and carers a time to relax and enjoy some time with others who share a similar journey to themselves. We also invite guests/friends of SPARCS along from other local groups or charities to share information about the services and support in our local communities.
