South Africa lovers - Wuppertal in ashes!

Please help the community recover from the disaster!

Historic Western Cape small town goes down in flames
Forty-five houses have been left gutted, leaving at least 200 people homeless, following a devastating fire which swept through historic Wuppertal in the Western Cape. The small Cederberg town saw its Moravian Mission Station, clinic and town hall completely destroyed just after the Christmas festivities.

There is no clear indication what caused the fire. It could have been a mountain fire that made its way into town and burned everything down. The telecommunications infrastructure have been completely destroyed, leaving the community unable to communicate efficiently. Health officials have assisted with the dispensing of medication, especially for the aged and frail, and the South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) has assisted with the provision of clothes, tents and food.

Nevertheless everything needs to be rebuilt, and we are praying for your support to help the victims of this disaster regain their homes as soon as possible and go back to a normal life.

Thank you to everyone who will share and donate. No donation is too small!

A brief history on Wuppertal - loved by tourists from all over!
A small town nestled outside of civilisation, Wuppetal was established, according to SA Venues, by two Rhenish missionaries in the early 1800s. Known best for its rooibos tea, Wuppertal remains a quiet, out of the way kind of town. Those who have always ventured into this oasis will be shattered to realise that it will be a while before Wuppertal heals.
