The Sounds of Jefferson needs your support!
After meeting only half of our previous fundraising goal the Sounds of Jefferson are still in need and we are asking for your help NOW to keep us going through the school year. Let’s come together and show our support for one of Portland’s most revered music programs and help build it back up to the impressive levels it achieved in the 1970’s – 90’s.
How you can help:
We need $10,000 to keep the full program for the rest of the 2016-17 school year. Please help us save and revive The Sounds of Jefferson!
Our story:
This is a program that brings so many positives to our Jefferson High School students and our Portland community. The Sounds of Jefferson is an after school program at Jefferson High School to teach students music. Music of many genres. This music program is already popular with students and has the potential to positively affect many more students as it builds back to its former level. Among many other attributes, music has a significant effect on students' learning.
The basics:
Funds for this campaign will go directly to the Jefferson High School PTSA who is the fiscal sponsor for the band and then 100% of funds will be distributed to the Sounds of Jefferson Band program.
Our budget includes salaries for band teachers, equipment and other supplies. The funds will be used for keeping and expanding the band, drumline and developing the rock band.
We are grateful for bringing joy and meaning to our students:
Our students repeatedly say that this music program brings great meaning and joy to their lives. We are grateful for your support!
Your contribution is to a 501(3)c and is tax deductible (Tax ID #93-6039345)
We will have the names of donors prominently displayed in the Band room.
